Tasting - Latour Macon-Villages Chamroy 2010

Name- Latour Macon-Villages Chamroy
Variety- Chardonnay
Region- Maconnais

Country- France
Year- 2010
Price- $20 -->  $11.95

Winery review: " The Mâcon-Villages Chameroy 2011 is of a light golden colour. It offers a floral and titillating nose. Round and candied fruit on the mouth, muscat-like notes can be smelt with mineral freshness."

My review: This wine had many floral notes on the nose and more fruit than floral flavors. There was some slight acidity and a light body. Overall, this wine had a nice pear aspect and some acidic components. I would pair this wine with some light seafood.

Name- Schmidt Sonne Pinot Gris

Variety- Pinot Grigio
Region- Veneto
Country- Italy
Year- 2010

Winery review: "Agris is a wine everyone and everything can get along with. Medium bodied and well-balanced, this Pinot Gris is showing peach, citrus and almond flavors with crisp, bright acidity and a fresh lingering finish."

My review: I am normally a fan of Pinot Grigio and this wine was pretty enjoyable, once I got past the pee scent. This wine tasted much better than it smelled and some citrus flavors and acidity came through. I would pair this with some fresh fish tacos.

Tasting - 99 Vines Cabernet Sauvignon

Name- 99 Vines Cabernet Sauvignon
Variety- Cabernet Sauvignon
Region- CA
Country- USA
Year- n/a
Price- $8.99

Winery review: "Nice juicy well structured Cabernet Sauvignon seldom shows itself at such a value as this. Ripe dark fruit with some heft balances nicely with an easy drinking acidity to complete this delicious Cabernet Sauvignon."

My review: This wine was described as a crowd favorite and now I know why. It was very complex, yet had a smooth texture. This wine smelled similar to a jolly rancher and on the palate it was showing some strawberry notes. There were also some strong tannins.  I would pair this wine with almost anything, but I could see it going nicely with some steak.

My review: This wine had a nice deep color to it, along with some blueberry and raspberry scents. The wine had a great body to it and lots of tannins. The wine had flavors of pomegranate and had a dry finish. I would pair this wine with some pork or steak dish.
